Simple solution...: Healthy babies in America are recommended to sleep alone (face up until able to roll over) in a safe bassinet or crib, from the time they are born. It is not possible nor advisable to constantly watch a baby nor be with a baby while he is sleeping (parents need their rest!). A normal baby will happily sleep after a feeding, and then wake up for the next meal when he is hungry or wants to play.
