No: Prone sleeping was the norm starting around the 1920's based on untested theories on safety.By the 1990's data had surfaced that pointed to it as a consistent factor in crib death (SIDS).Since the BACK TO SLEEP campaign in the 90's we have seen a 40% drop in SIDS cases.If you prone sleep your baby you are placing her at that risk.
