Yes: you may start the pill at any time during the cycle. For you, since you are irregular it is not possible to know exactly where you are in the cycle, it makes sense to just start the pill and expect some spotting for up to 3 or 4 weeks as you body acclimates to the pill. You should achieve good, predictable cycles with the pill.
