Would an std cause spotting and cramping at the same time every month (about 10 days before period)? on bc

Not likely: An STD would not likely do this. It sounds like breakthrough bleeding, when the uterine lining becomes unstable and you will have a little bleeding. It is a fairly common problem with low dose pills, and does not effect the contraceptive aspect of the pill. If it keeps happening and you are bothered by it, you may need to try a different pill. Dont stop the pills when it happens, though.

Probably not: it is unlikely that an STD would manifest that way. But, ovulation can certainly cause those symptoms and that is the most likely explanation.
