Acute diarrhea: Please see your physician if it persists. Although hopefully a transient problem of gastroenteritis or IBS, there are other problems to rule out. Acute diarrhea and abdominal pain is usually viral gastroenteritis. Makes sure you drink fluids to avoid dehydration. Bananas, apples, rice, toast, and black tea. To ER if pain worsens, cannot take in fluids, blood in stool.
