A member asked:

Small bump right above ear (in crook), painful to touch. could it be a lymph node infection? how long should i wait to see if it goes away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Post auricular LN: It is persists beyond the first few weeks of the year then have your family doctor or your local ent doctor check you . You may have lymph nodes elsewhere that you can not feel. Usually the doctor will give you an antibiotic to see if it does not resolve. If no change, then it will need to come out or get biopsied with a needle. I see these very often and they usually go away. Feel better!
