Most likely: Although there are no guarantees, the pigmentation will fade to normal. It could take weeks or even months. Scarring is possible although less likely.

Time: If you keep the area protected from sun exposure (either by covering or by using good sunscreen lotion), there is a good chance that it will heal completely.
