May never find out: The key is that all the causes of chest pain that can kill you (coronary artery occlusion, pulmonary thromboembolus, aortic root tear, pneumonia, collapsed lung) weren't present. Many physicians are unfamiliar with a severe chest pain syndrome in young adult caused by an odd reaction to a common virus (pleurodynia). Chest wall pain is often undiagnosable. Relax & be thankful for good health.
