Premature beat: Hi. Usually what you describe is a premature contraction with a compensatory pause. They are benign. If they only occur occasionally, an ECG is unlikely to catch one. A Holter monitor is more likely. But tell us more about this fear of asking your doctor problem. That sounds more serious. Good luck!
