How high?: Minimally elevated probably not worth worrying about. Very or moderately high requires a test - serum immunoelectrophoresis - to rule-out multiple myeloma. Minimally high bears repeating twice a year.

Waldenstrom's Dz: An elevation of immunoglobulin m (igm) in the serum esp. It depends: There are several types of immunoglobulin, igg, iga, IgM and ige. Having a "high" level of each of them could mean different things. It is also important to know if it is a "high" overall level, or a "high" level of a specific kind of igg, iga, igm, or ige. In general, a high ige means "allergy". High igg/a/m can mean different things depending on their specificity (total or specific).

Unrelated: They are unrelated. Low IgM is usually not clinically significant (depending on how low of course). Talk to an allergist immunologist to figure this out. A high A1c would suggest diabetes. Talk to your primary care doctor.
