Growth: At age 44 you will not have a growth spurt as far as height is concerned. That usually stops somewhere in the mid- to late 20's. The "growth spurt" you need to pay attention to at your age is your weight. If it is fine keep it that way.

Out not up: You don't grow taller after your growth centers close at the end of puberty. As a man in his 40's you are more likely to grow out than up.
