A member asked:

Why might someone have discoloration on their teeth?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many causes: Developmental stresses --during tooth development--(illness and certain antiobiotics) can cause this. Teeth may have stained plaque, foods and beverages can contribute to this. The stain may be only on the outside of the teeth and can be polished away or it may be within the inner dentin layer and need to be bleached away.
