A member asked:

Why is there st segment elevation during a myocardial infarction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ecg: The ST segment elevation is caused by an electrical potential difference in that phase of the cardiac cycle between the dying cardiac muscle and normal parts of the heart and the vector direction of that potential difference as manifest on the ecg.
