Allergy exposure: Eczema is an allergy in the skin so if it is dry outside or if there is clothing that is irritating it can flare up. Also can happen from bacteria on the skin. Use lots of ointment to coat the skin several times a day, especially before bedtime and if the spots are very red, he may need a steroid cream that your doctor can prescribe. The main treatment is moisturizing the skin and keeping it moist
