If you're 48, you : may have reached menopause. If you're a teen or young adult, which is much more likely, there are many factors that determine resumption of menses (ROM). Maintaining a BMI of 15-20% for a year or being at 90% of expected body wt. for age & ht. ^ chances of ROM. See a gynecologist or gynecological endocrinologist who will order serial lab tests for certain hormone levels that help predict ROM.
