Like a sun burn: Nd yag laser is used to resurface the skin therefore after the treatment, the skin has a burning sensation for 2-3 hours and subsides. Ice cold compresses are key to comfort.

Often times Normal: While you may have some irritation after the yag laser on the eyes often times it depends on what the laser is for. After a yag for capsular opacity you may have no symptoms but only mild to moderate blurriness. For a yag procedure on the iris the symptoms may range from none to mild light sensitivity. Your recovery and symptoms really depend on the purpose of the procedure.
