A member asked:

Why could someone's gp want to discuss the results of a blood test? does that mean the person is sick?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible reasons: Lab testing is difficult for both physician and patient. A majority of findings slightly outside of the reference range mean nothing. In today's horribly dysfunctional health care system, a busy physician may be penalized on his pay for "spending too much time talking with patients." If you're concerend that you're seriously sick, you need to ask. It's your absolute right to know.
