A member asked:

Why can't some people distinguish between orange and yellow? are they colorblind?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Could be: The color deficient known as protanopia can have subtle poorish ability to see some colors in the yellow-orange spectrum. Color deficiency is generally not absolute but a lowered sensitivity and there are many subtle different types. You probably know someone whose loss is in this area.
