American Red Cross: states one should not donate blood if they have had: previous/ current cancer, Hx of Hepatitis C or B, HIV infection or high risk for getting infected, IV/oral drug abuse, autoimmune diseases (XLE, RA, Thyrotoxicosis), some serious chronic illnesses (cardiac/ pulmonary).
