Which arteries are used during cabg?

Ima, radial: three types of vessels are used for CABG: radial artery, internal mammary artery and saphenous vein. The radial artery is removed from the forearm, the internal mammary (IMA) is dissected form the chest wall and the saphenous vein is removed form the leg. Arteries generally last longer than veins. There are advantages and disadvantages to each approach that should be discussed with your surgeon

Depends: Most commonly, the left internal mammary artery (or LIMA), which runs along the underside of your rib cage on the left, is used. the Right internal mammary artery is also used sometimes. The radial arteries (on your forearms) are sometimes used as well.
