Biosynthetic drug: Humulin and other brands of human insulin such as Nolovin are produced by inserting human DNA with the sequence for insulin into a common bacteria called E Coli and then the insulin produced is purified from the bacterial soup. Insulin has been made this way since the 1980s and is identical to the insulin we produce ourselves
