Every other day: Day 1 in a woman's cycle is when the slightest spotting starts off the period. Sperm can survive for up to 5 days. Ovulation occurs cycle length minus 14. Cycle = Day 1 to day before next cycle. Since you don't know how long your cycle will be, i.e., when you will ovulate, have intercourse day 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17. His testicles need to recover in between to produce enough sperm.

When you ovulate: The best way to know that you are ovulating is to do a home ovulation prediction test. All you have to do is test every day starting around day 12. When it turns positive, you know you will ovulate in 12-48 hours. These tests are available at the pharmacy without a prescription. Best wishes!
