When does someone need a gynecology/oncology appointment?

Cancer or possible: A gynecologic oncologist treats women's cancers. If a cancer is diagnosed or suspected, or if a pre-cancer is not going away despite treatment you may be referred. Also gynecologic oncologists are sometimes helpful in difficult benign surgeries like may be related to endometriosis.

We also see complex gynecologic cases that are too difficult to manage by a gynecologist such as large fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian masses, etc. If not sure, ask your gynecologist for a referral.
