A member asked:

When do doctors prescribe anti-psychotic drugs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Misnomer: What you call antipsychotic drugs is merely a way to adjust a brain chemical called Dopamine. This chemical mediates many different emotional states. Obviously one of these states is psychosis in any of its forms. It is also useful in some depressions.
