A member asked:

What kind of injury to the spinal cord prevents the use of the legs but not the arms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Spine injury level: Your spinal cord is made up of nerve tracts running up and down to and from your brain to the rest of your body. A spinal cord injury at the level of your mid back or lower will not affect the nerves to your arms, which have already left the cord and spinal canal.
