Modified atkins: a South Beach Diet is a modified atkins diet. It is mostly protein and fat and doesn't allow many carbohydrates in the beginning. Over time it allows more carbohydrates first as vegetables and then as fruits and vegetables. The take home lesson here - is stay away from processed foods, eat more fruits and vegetables- I would also limit too much fat
