A member asked:

What is the difference between a neural tube and neuropore that form during gastrulation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pore is part of tube: the neural tube is the embryo's precursor to the central nervous system, which comprises the brain and spinal cord. The neuropore is an opening in the end of the neural tube of the developing embryo; the rostral neuropore is normally closed by 25 to 26 days and the caudal neuropore is usually closed by the end of the fourth week.
