Notochord: notochord is formed on day 17 gestation this then secretes signalling molecules like SHH protien that induces overlying ectoderm to neuroectoderm this produces precurser cells for neural structures in the embrayo the notochord then forms the axis of developing vertebral body in the developing embrayo during primary nurulation the neuroectoderm forms a neural tube and spinal tube
