A member asked:

What is an antrotomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Defined: An antrotomy is an incision or opening into the lower third of the stomach (antrum.) Could be done to gain access to the lower stomach to remove a benign growth, or to drain a pancreatic cyst into the stomach. If the lower third of the stomach is removed, it's an antrectomy. I hope this helps. Good luck.
