A member asked:

What can be done for someone suffering from alcohol poisoning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Emergency treatment: True alcohol poisoning, like poisoning from any sedative, causes unconsciousness, which can have its own problems from vomiting and aspirating, lying in one spot without moving for long periods of time which can cause muscle damage, kidney failure and even loss of extremities involved. In many cases, respiration is slowed or even stops, causing hypoxia, possible brain damage and ultimately death.
