Breathing: Breathing involves the air and enough oxygen in it, as well as lack of contaminants in the air. The mechanics of breathing the chest wall and diaphragm have to be functioning normally, the anatomy of the lungs has to be normal. Asthma has obstruction of the breathing tubes as does bronchitis. Abnormalities of the lung tissue and alveoli are also common causes of breathing difficulty.
