If the pharmacy is going to tell you about the potential dangers of a drug anyway, why can't all drugs be available otc?

Numerous reasons: It is a question of public safety. Though many drugs have "Scary" side effects there are often effects that are rare and highly lethal. If they were all OTC, how would you know that it is good for your condition? you may misdiagnose your condition and be in serious trouble. I do understand you dilemma but believe me it is fro your own good.
