Shin splints: Almost all folks stop growing taller between age 18-25. Some grow a bit later but at 40 years of age it is extremely unlikely you could grow taller. If you are not yet doing anything about shin splints you should see a doctor about it.

No effect: Once your growth centers close in adolescence you will never grow taller. At a listed age of 43 you are long since done. Shin splints are a mechanical issue with your bone. Having them and or treating them has no relationship to your stature.
