A member asked:

If lump on my knee is not connected to bone does this rule out cancer info from xray?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be cancer: Most lumps on the knee not connected to underlying bone are neoplastic in origin. They can represent low grade dermatofibrosarcomas to liiposarcomas to amelanotic melanoma. Benign fibrous lesions can also be present so that if there is any growth or question from a surgical oncolgist, have a bx performed
