A member asked:

I have pain and it feels like it in that bone that's in the middle of my chest?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Painful to touch?: The sternum may get inflamed by a variety of things. If the bone is painful to touch it may respond to things like aspirin or ibuprofen. If the pain is behind the bone then you may need a cardiac or GI work up to evaluate for other sources of the pain that may be more serious. Do not delay if that is the case.
