Mirena (levonorgestrel) insertion: Cervical dilatation usually unnecessary. If never had a baby, taking 400mcg Cytotec (misoprostol) 4-6 hours before, facilitates insertion and dilatation rarely required. I have never needed to dilate anyone for this.
