A member asked:

When a patient progresses to stomach metaplasia, is there a reduction of previous symptoms, giving the patient a false sense of well-being?

Not really: Metaplasia is a form of ineffective repair..intestinal metaplasia in the stomach means replacing or repairing injured lining with one that is nonfunctional and thus produces less acid which if extensive may feel like relief from hyperacidity

No such thing: Such changes and early cancers are entirely asymptomatic. The only way to know is by endoscopy and biopsy followed by Histopathology examinations.
