Hyperthyroidism: Hyperthyroidism is treated with medications, I-131 ablation or surgery. Swallowing problems may be present with large goiters or nodules however there are multiple other causes. These rarely result in breathing problems. Other etiologies for cough and breathing problems should be explored with your physician.
