Hematochezia: "Hematochezia" or bloody stools is commonly caused by diverticulitis in patients of your age. Symptoms include abdominal pain and possibly fever with treatment being antibiotics. Regardless, after your bleeding subsides you will need a colonoscopy for a proper diagnosis.
