My blood has been unusually thick, is my kidney having trouble filtering my blood?

No: "thick" blood typically suggests an issue with the clotting system or a problem with the cells in the blood (too many red cells or a problem with platelets). It's hard to offer more insight without more specifics about why you were told your blood is thick. In fact, patients with kidney disease can have issues with bleeding ( "thin" blood) because the platelets don't work as well.
