A member asked:

My 9 month old slept with a smell in her crib from her new bumpers. can this hurt her?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Smell: do you mean that the bumpers smelled? The smell (unless that of a poison or tobacco smoke) is unlikely to harm a baby. However, bumpers can harm a baby. It is recommended that you remove bumpers from your child's crib. They are not shown to reduce injury and many children get stuck or trapped in them every year. Please talk with you pediatrician about safe bedding for babies.
