Purée foods: if she refuses to see a doctor - for now try to purée foods with a blender. However she really does need a medical evaluation. She might have something blocking her esophagus causing these difficulties and pains. Fibromyalgia does not typically affect swallowing. All the best to you!

Doctor visit needed: Sorry to hear this. Difficulty swallowing solids can signal a serious illness, and should be evaluated by a doctor as soon as possible. Loving support is always appreciated.
