Shower symptoms: It's possible this is a form of a "vagal reaction" which can be induced by a "hot" shower. If this occurs, one's blood pressure can drop and cause light headedness and perhaps some shortness of breath. Try lowering the temperature and minimize hot water exposure directly to the face.
