A manic state = a: CHANGE in mood with elation/euphoria or irritability AND energy/activity level for at least a week &'at least 3 symptoms: Grandiosity Diminished need for sleep Excessive talking/pressured speech Racing thoughts/flight of ideas Distractibility ^ed level of goal-focused activity at home/work or sexually. Excessive pleasurable activities. A sign of Bipolar Disorder, mania causes harmful dyfunction.
