Possible: It is possible for an early urinary tract infection to cause discomfort with initiation of the urine stream. A simple urine test performed by your doctor can help you sort this out.

UTI: Urine running over a minor cut can also be uncomfortable. UTI or urinary tract infection is characterized by painful frequent urgent need to pee. Whether you use tampons or pads is a personal preference, not guided by UTI. If pain persists or gets worse, please go see your family doc for testing & treatment.

Yes to both: Pain with urination could be a symtom of a UTI as well as vaginal inection/STI.YesYou may continue to use Tampons without worry.
