Acid reflux?: If you are prone to acid reflux, the spasm it can cause in your esophagus can cause chest pain and arm pain. And alcohol makes reflux worse. It wouldn't be a bad idea to rule out a cardiac cause of the pain, though. You may want to get an EKG the next time it happens. And consider avoiding alcohol!

Very curious: I really don't know why this happens to you. Alcohol affects chemical pathways involving glutamate & GABA, though it is thought that these chemicals largely impact inhibition, memory & judgement rather than pain pathways. Would be very unusual if alcohol affected these specific pain pathways in you. Are there mechanical things...being in a certain position, holding a heavy glass ??!! that explain?

Unrelated: Experiencing brief arm pain only after drinking alcohol is not possible on a physical basis. If you are experiencing it, it must be psychogenic. It is possible to experience pain or other uncomfortable bodily sensation due to subconscious thoughts. The brain is in constant two way communication with the rest of your body via neuropeptides, hormones other chemicals and direct nerve connections.
