Sphincter of Oddi: Dysfunction is a controversial entity and physicians debate whether it's actually a cause of abdominal pain, as after treatment, less than 50% of patients improve. Left sided pain may be due to stomach ulcers, or may be related to your generalized pain as part of functional dyspepsia.
