A member asked:

What exercises are most recommended after having asthma as a child and left with lower breathing capacity? i'm guessing cardio is not recommended. tnx

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Aerobic training: Under usual circumstances, a history of childhood asthma should not prevent a person from enjoying the benefits of aerobic exercise (activity that sustains heart rate at 70 percent of age predicted maximum for 30 minutes). Regular aerobic exercise, such as walking, cycling, jogging or swimming will improve cardiovascular fitness and stamina. The program should start slowly, build gradually.
