Can running or other cardio help asthma? i remember a few years ago when i ran 3 miles a day my breathing became easier.

Yes: Any cardiovascular conditioning can help asthma. The key is before u begin, consult your doc who may want to do a thorough physical, start out slow, & consult your doctor to determine if you should use an inhaler shortly before your exercise/training. Once you are cardiovascularly conditioned and at an ideal or healthy weight u may be able to wean your asthma meds under your docs supervision.

Not really: Cardio exercise can help strengthen the muscles of the chest to help you breathe, but asthma is really an inflammatory disorder of the airways, most often due to allergies. Exercise can't do anything about the underlying inflammation that is causing your asthma symptoms.
