Not as common after: But relatively common just prior and through the first three days. It is referred to as dysmenorrhea in the medical world. If the pain is really severe that you find it debilitating, as in can't do your normal daily "stuff", or the cramps last for more than 3-4 days, you should really consider reviewing this with your own doctor. There are times where it's not normal.
